So Sad. :(

Got the notice in my inbox this morning. The Absent Willow Review will be closing it’s doors forever. :( They will be re-posting ALL their accepted stories in their last issue, including my scifi short TRIP OF A LIFETIME. It’s scheduled to go live October 16. Please give them one last big visit and read the incredible talent they have supported over the last three years.

Gargoyles, and strings, and lots of things.

It’s been awhile since I wrote anything in my blog. I must admit, I’ve been a little on the lazy side about posting regularly this last week. Blame it on the novel.

I’ve come to a big conclusion these last few weeks; as of this February, I will no longer be a member of the Online Writer’s Workshop. I’ve made some great friends, and as much as I value (and always will value) the site, it doesn’t seem to be doing what I need it to anymore. I tried branching out into reviewing other genre’s, but didn’t get back as many reviews as I had hoped. Now I know that’s not what the site it about, but it really kills my motivation to review when nothing is given back.

I’ve learned so much in the three years I’ve been a member, and it will feel strange not to sign in, but I think there comes a point when you just have to part ways. To all those who read this and aren’t a member, I highly suggest signing up. Yes, there is a fee after the first month, but if you’re going to be a writer, you have to spend a little money on the tools of your craft.

Having said that, here is my Friday Writing Update.

NOVEL: The Saints of Belvedere Road

THE NOVEL IS FINIHSED! Great Goddess in Heaven I didn’t think I would get it done, but it is, and resting nicely in two flashdrives, my hard-drive, and Google Docs. I’m not taking any chances. I’ve been polishing it this last week, adding a few plot details like the REAL reason Henry is such a bastard (To Beta’s; you haven’t seen the real reason yet! :P ), and other nefarious plot holes. I’m going to a semi-quazi motivational conference this May. There’s going to be a lecture for writers and I’m signed up for it.

SHORT STORY: Gargoyes, Moonlight.

One is paranormal the other erotica. Can you guess which is which? I worked on both of these the last few weeks, and they’re coming along. I’ve also started sending out FRIES WITH THAT again. Still no word about BLESS YOU, but I checked the site, and the editor is looking over stories that were subbed back in June. Hell, a part of me feels like I should pull it, but I’ve been a slush reader, so I know how hard it is to get all those subs done.

SCRIPT: Marked

Coming along nicely, even with a big whompin’ plot hole near the end. I’m part of a Think Tank group on AQC so I’ll post there and see if the members can help. No, I’m not worried about anyone stealing my content. I’m not that paranoid.
