Autumn Upheaval

I do like this time of year. The air becomes cooler and the foliage begins to turn. One thing I don’t care for, is the atmospheric turbulence. An external emotional/physical stimulus that has me sleeping during the day and wide awake at night, or crying for no reason. Did I mention the joint pain and headaches? Oh, and the restlessness? Walking around the house trying to figure out why I need to go somewhere, but don’t know where to go. Yeah, that’s really productive. My writing has suffered because of it.

I know there are some of you who will scoff at this, but it’s a real affliction. It’s akin to being depressed through the winter months due to lack of sunlight or feeling strange during a full moon. We are off this world, so why shouldn’t the world around us affect us? Things should calm down around November. We’ll be into the more stable cold weather by then, and I’ll have a few months to relax before Spring comes and this starts all over again.

Oh joy.

One Response to Autumn Upheaval

  1. I understand what you’re saying. Our high-pressured, urban lifestyles separate us from a daily experience with nature, but we can not escape the world around us. It affects us, even if we don’t realize that’s what it is.
