Quick and easy home-made spaghetti sauce.

In trying to eat better, Husband came up with a great recipe for spaghetti sauce. The thing I like about it is, first, you make it so you know it’s fresh. Can and jar sauce, while good, has probably been kept on the shelf for who knows how long. The fact those products have an expiration date of over a year doesn’t make me feel any better either.
Anyway, Husband put this together one night and it’s wonderful! Best thing, it’s quick and easy just like the title says.
One can of crushed tomatoes
Can of plum tomatoes
One small can of tomato paste
Italian seasoning (add to taste)
Ground hamburger (optional)
Cut veggies of your choice.
In a fry pan, fry up veggies of your choice. Set aside.
In a large sauce pan/pot pour in crushed tomatoes, tomatoes and paste. Mix well. Add hamburger, veggies and seasoning. Let everything simmer for 20 minutes.
An alternate way to prepare is to add everything into a crock pot (veggies are raw) and let simmer all day. I’m going to try it that way next time.
