Back in the saddle; back on the bike…

…or whatever the hell you want to call it.

I’ve been away. Kind of. As some of you know I had emergency surgery at the beginning of April, and even though everything went fine, it took me close to three weeks to recover physically.  SYMPATHY FOR THE DEMON was due to come out the beginning of May, so I put everything aside and focused on that, including blog posts. I did a few, but the task of getting myself back on my schedule was too hard and I let them slide.

I decided to take all of May off, hoping that the extended rest would kick-start my creative energies, and to some degree, it did. The itch to write wasn’t as strong as it usually is but I didn’t mind. To be honest, I just didn’t feel like writing. I know there are those who believe if you’re a writer; you write every day. No matter what. I don’t subscribe to this. Forcing myself to do something is not the best way for me to accomplish anything. Remember when you were a kid and your parents made you do chores? Did you like doing them? Did being forced to do something make it more enjoyable to do it again later on?

I didn’t think so.

Now it’s June, and I think things are levelling out. I spent last Saturday in a coffee-shop coming up with plots for four more Gothic romance novels to add to my series, and I’ve been toying with plot idea’s for book five. Hopefully I’ll get back into blogs posts, especially ones for THE CARRIERS. I should have had the first chapter done by now and onto the second, but hey, no sweat.

Oh, and I have to say I have the COOLEST scar on my lower abdomen. You can see the half-inch incision line, and then two little stitch lines. It is so cool! Unfortunately, my navel piecing closed. I am not impressed, and the surgeon sewed up my navel too small. Or maybe he just put it back to pre-pregnancy. Hmm…that could be a good thing.
